The Black Keys have released since El Camino, three years ago. I think I speak for all Black Keys fans when I say its about damn time!

Fever combines the elements of earlier songs by the Black Keys, but features a distinct piano riff during the hook. If Fever is any indication of Turn Blue overall; it should be a healthy mix of crunchy blues and mainstream pop that fans have grown accustom to.

The reclusive Neutral Milk Hotel is hitting the road.  After a 14 year hiatus, their reunion for In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, began in April. Neutral Milk Hotel’s tour will give younger listeners a look at a band that has heavy influences on artists today like; The Decemberists, Arcade Fire, and Franz Ferdinand… to name a few.

If you’re looking out for the big shows this summer; Lollapalooza is scheduled for August 1st through the 3rd in Chicago. The lineup was officially announced this week and features artists from all genres. Headlining the 3 day event will be Eminem, Outkast, Kings of Leon, Lorde, The Arctic Monkeys, and Skrillex. The event also features a few young-heads including Grouplove, Airborne Toxic Event, Fitz and The Tantrums, and Kate Nash. Lollapalooza has been around forever so it’s really great to see the organizers keeping it fresh.

The entire state of Texas is recovering from South by SouthWest and gearing up for “Sheep-fest”. featuring diverse acts like Jimmy Buffet, Journey, Creed, Garth Brooks and Nickelback. “Sheep-fest” will also include “Guy Fieri’s Mile Long BBQ Trough”, filled with deep fried sheep, marinaded in Guy’s Famous-Butt-tastic-Moppin sauce. I’m not into any of that music but I will eat all that food. No joke.

Before we sign off I want to call your attention to the “Bleachers” – a new band created by Jack Antonoff of Fun.

While known for being a member of Fun, Antonoff’s new project is more similar to his first band, Steel Train. Check ’em out, it’s a quick google search.

The bands first single entitled ,”I Wanna Get Better”, is less theatrical than Fun but is an aggressive, grittier sounding track. Antonoff is a talented songwriter made stronger by teaming with co-writer Sara Bareilles of Tegan and Sara. Antonoff is clearly a creative person and it shows in his music, Bleachers is set to release their first album this spring on RCA.
